RSA to reveal New Contemporaries

People staying in hostels in Edinburgh may like to attend a new exhibition in the city that showcases Scotland's up-and-coming artists.

The Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) Galleries is getting set to host its annual RSA New Contemporaries exhibition, which is now in its third year.

Due to open on March 19th, the exhibition will run until April 13th and will feature works of almost 60 artists and architects who have been selected from the 2010 Art and Architecture Degree Shows.

Colin Greenslade, RSA Programme Director, said: "We envisaged that the development of this exhibition will be one of the most important initiatives for emerging artists in Scotland each year, enabling a 'first exhibition' opportunity for some 59 emergent artists annually.

"The exhibition will be a unique opportunity to see the best of Scotland’s emerging talent under one roof."

All 12 of the RSA Galleries will be used to showcase the pieces in the exhibition. Works on show will include painting sculpture, film making, photography, printmaking, architecture and installation.
