MOBOs to return to Glasgow
Music fans may be looking to find city centre accommodation in Glasgow later this year as the city is set to host the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards.
Songstress and Strictly Come Dancing host Alesha Dixon and MOBO founder Kanya King announced that the Glasgow will host the awards ceremony this year, in 2013 and in 2015.
Ms Dixon, who is an ambassador for the MOBOs and has formally hosted the event, said: "I am truly delighted to announce Glasgow as the host city for this year's 16th MOBO Awards.
"I hosted the event last year with Reggie Yates, and back in 2002 with LL Cool J, and it was a wonderful experience. The music scene her in Glasgow is vibrant, no doubt because of the passionate audiences here in Scotland."
This year's event is set to take place in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on October 5th.
The event recognises artists of any race or nationality performing black music. It first took place in 1995.
