Newcastle getting set for Evolution festival

Hostels in Newcastle may prove popular with music fans planning to attend Evolution festival.

Evolution Weekend 2011 is set to take place on May 28th and 29th at Newcastlegateshead Quayside.

Tickets for one day cost £25, while a weekend pass will set festival-goers back £35. Both of these prices are excluding the booking fee.

People heading there on the Saturday will enjoy music by The Kills, Hercules & Love Affair and Jamie Woon. The headline acts are Iggy & The Stooges and Katy B.

On the Sunday, Plan B and Caribou will be taking centre stage. Attendees will also enjoy tunes from the likes of Tinie Tempah, Detroit Social Club and Mount Kimbie.

Those heading to the festival will also be pleased to hear that the ticket price includes a donation to WaterAid, the nominated charity of this year's event.

WaterAid is an international charity that aims to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
