Glasgow sculpture exhibition extended

Culture lovers heading to Glasgow hostels may be pleased to hear that a sculpture exhibition has been extended.

Art fans will be able to see Christine Borland's Cast From Nature exhibit at the Glasgow Sculpture Studios until April 16th.

Those attending the exhibition on a Thursday may also enjoy attending the gallery's Free Lunchtime Talks programme, which take place every week and offer new insights into the work on show.

Borland's exhibit showcases realistic sculptures of people presented as classical statutes, including one of a man who appears to have been drowned, reports the Evening Times.

Commenting on the shocking nature of her subjects, she told the news provider: "People could be unsettled, they could walk out. Life and death is the eternal subject matter for art."

Borland was born in 1965. She works with forensic science and medicine, such as the police and judicial processes. In 1997, she was nominated for the "all women" turner prize.
