Edinburgh to host 'wild' outdoor exhibition
People staying in city centre accommodation in Edinburgh may enjoy a new outdoor exhibition that is "wild".
At the height of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the city will become a jungle, with models of elephants, crocodiles, orang-utans, tigers and exotic birds placed around the city, reports The Scotsman.
Over 150 brightly coloured teachers that have been created by artists and celebrities will be put in the city.
The exhibition is part of a £1 million drive to protect some of the world's most endangered species.
A spokeswoman for Jungle City said: "We have a dream to turn Edinburgh into a jungle, to fill to it to the brim with iconic animals and replace the sounds of a city with birdsong and monkey chatter.
"Park benches, fountains, pavements and traffic lights will become perches, watering holes, hunting and grazing grounds."
Following the exhibition, the pieces will be auctioned off in aid of the Elephant Charity, which aims to save elephants.
