Edinburgh to host The Buddy Holly Story

Music fans planning to stay in hostels in Edinburgh may like to find out more about legendary singer/songwriter Buddy Holly.

The Buddy Holly Story will be being performed at the Edinburgh Playhouse between July 11th and 16th.

Those who do attend will be treated to classic tracks by the musician, including Peggy Sue, That'll Be The Day and Oh Boy.

A statement from the theatre said: "With the Big Bopper's Chantilly Lace and Ritchie Valens' La Bamba completing a stellar musical line up, Buddy is a not to be missed evening of family entertainment that will have music lovers from eight to 80 toe-tapping, hand clapping and rocking in the aisles!"

The Buddy Holly Story is based on the life and career of early rock n' roller Buddy Holly, who died in a plane crash in 1959.

It was branded a 'jukebox musical' and made way for other musicals such as Mamma Mia! and Grease.
