Ed Byrne bringing the funny to Newcastle

Irish funnyman Ed Byrne will be performing his latest stand-up routine at Newcastle City Hall this month.

Fans of the comic may want to book into Newcastle hostels on May 27th so that they can recover after enjoying the set, which is likely to leave them rolling in the aisles.

Byrne is currently on his 2011 Crowd Pleaser Tour, which has left people in stitches from fits of laughter up and down the UK.

The Perrier Award-nominated comedian has released a number of stand-up DVDs in the past, including 2009's Different Class, which was recorded at Glasgow King's Theatre.

Beyond stand-up, he is a regular on Britain's television screens, having appeared a number of times on The Panel, Mock the Week and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

He has also previously appeared on Have I Got News for You, The Bubble and The Unbelievable Truth.

As well as regularly performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Byrne has built up a strong international following, having toured in the US, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and France.
