James Blake coming to Newcastle

Music lovers with tickets to see James Blake on the north-east leg of his UK tour may want to book into Newcastle hostels if they need accommodation after the show.

The electronic composer, who has hit the big time this year, will be performing songs from his debut album at the O2 Academy Newcastle on June 4th, in what is sure to be one of the live music highlights of the year.

Blake has risen to prominence since coming second in the BBC Sound of 2011 poll, which is an annual survey of music critics and industry reps to identify the hottest up-and-coming things.

A pioneer of 'post-dubstep', Blake has gone from strength to strength in recent months, releasing his debut album, entitled James Blake, in February.

Becoming a top-ten hit in the UK album charts and reaching number one in Belgium, the album has received rave reviews and features the hit singles Limit to Your Love and The Wilhelm Scream.
