Riverside Museum to shortly open in Glasgow
Culture fans may be in need of city centre accommodation in Newcastle as a new museum is soon to open its doors there.
The Riverside Museum will officially open to the public on June 21st and it is located on the banks of the River Clyde.
It will be home to the transport, engineering and shipbuilding legacies and is due to be the city's newest visitor attraction.
Councillor Gordon Matheson, the leader of Glasgow City Council, said: "Glasgow is a city transformed, from post industrial wasteland, to a global destination for culture and sport.
"The eyes of the world will be on us in 2014 as we host the Commonwealth Games, but as the Riverside Museum demonstrates, we have more than just our sporting legacy to shout about."
The Riverside Museum has been designed by Zaha Hadid and it cost £74 million to build. It will house over 3,000 exhibits and more than 150 interactive displays.
