Best bar in Newcastle revealed

Party animals who are getting set to stay in hostels in Newcastle may want to pay a visit to the best bar in the city.

Revolution, located on Collingwood Street, has been named the overall winner in the annual 2011 Best Bar None award, reports the Evening Chronicle.

Jon Mortimer, manager of Revolution, told the news provider: "We are stunned that we've taken the top title for the second year running as well being awarded gold for best bar.

"We never stop working to make sure our bar is a great place for our customers, locals and visitors alike. We want every customer to enjoy their time at Revolution."

Picking up the Silver Award in the Best Local Pub category was the Chillingham.

The Best Bar None awards was set up and organised in partnership with Safe Newcastle, which aims to reduce alcohol-related disorder while promoting responsible drinking.

These regional awards have been adopted by over 100 towns and cities in the UK.
