Rangers set to host Chelsea in August

Hostels in Glasgow could provide ideal accommodation for Chelsea fans heading north of the border for their side's upcoming match with Scottish giants Rangers.

The Premiership side will play Rangers at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly on August 6th from 3pm, as new Chelsea coach Andre Villas Boas looks to improve the match-sharpness of his team before the start of the new season.

Rangers, meanwhile, will be hoping the match kick-starts their own domestic campaign after they stuttered to a disappointing 1-1 opening day draw with Hearts.

In 2007, Rangers secured a 2-0 pre-season win over their wealthy rivals thanks to goals from Filip Sebo and Nacho Novo and fans will be hoping for a similar result this time around.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist said: "We enjoyed a fantastic match against them in 2007 and Ibrox was packed and I am sure the fans will turn out in huge numbers once again to watch us in action against such a high-profile English Premiership side.

"This game will be a great test for our players and we are all looking forward to their visit."
