Anish Kapoor exhibit opens in Edinburgh

Art lovers who are staying in hostels in Edinburgh may like to check out a new Anish Kapoor exhibition that has opened in the city.

Anish Kapoor: Flashback opened last week (August 4th) in the main building of Edinburgh College of Art. It is free to attend and will run until October 9th.

The exhibition is part of a major series of touring exhibitions organised by the Arts Council Collection.

A statement from the university said: "This exhibition brings together two works - one early piece and a major recent sculpture - selected by the artist in close dialogue with the Arts Council Collection to be displayed in the Sculpture Court at Edinburgh College of Art."

The two pieces of art on show are White Sand, Red Millet, Many Flowers, which was created in 1982, and Untitled, from 2010.

Untitled is a blood-red wax bell that stands at over five metres tall. This is the first time the piece has been displayed in the UK.
