Glasgow set for city show

Much of the city centre accommodation in Glasgow may well be booked up this weekend (August 13th and 14th) as the annual Glasgow Show is set to take place.

Events will be held on Glasgow Green, which is a five-minute walk from the city centre. Adult tickets cost just £5.

Over the course of the event, there will be live music, extreme sports, dance performances, street theatre and countryside activities.

There will also be funfair rides and the Glasgow Show Parade, which leave's George Square in the city and arrives at Glasgow Green.

The parade leaves at 11.30am and arrives to open the show at midday.

Last year's event saw Olly Murs take to the stage in the main arena and this year will see another X-Factor act perform to crowds. Jedward will be performing on the Saturday at 3.25pm.

If the twin act doesn't float your boat, other activities include a circus workshop, the Black Knights Parachute Display Team and a Mini Highland Cattle Show.
