Pam Ayres to host evening in Newcastle

Comedy fans who are planning to stay in hostels in Newcastle may enjoy spending an evening with Pam Ayres.

The comedian will be hosting an evening at the newly-opened Theatre Royal on September 25th. Tickets for the event cost between £13 and £20.

A statement from the theatre said: "Pam ... has performed across the globe, hosted her own TV and radio shows, and become a best-selling author with booksales in excess of three million.

"Pam’s show includes a selection of new poems and stories, as well as some of her old favourites."

She will be signing copies of her book after the performance.

The Theatre Royal has been closed for restoration since March this year. It will officially re-open on September 12th, when a production of The Madness of King George III will be being staged.

The £4.75 million project was carried out to renovate the theatre, improve carbon and energy efficiency, as well as install new seating and ventilation.
