Gruff Rhys set to play in Edinburgh

Hostels in Edinburgh may prove popular with fans of Gruff Rhys who are heading to the city to see the musician perform.

Rhys will be playing at the Bongo Club on October 8th and tickets for the show cost £13.50 without any additional fees.

The musician, who was a founding member of the Welsh band Super Furry Animals, will be playing as a solo artist.

Fans may well hear tracks from his latest studio album, Hotel Shampoo, which includes songs Shark Ridden Waters, Take a Sentence and Conversation Conversation.

Speaking about the album ahead of its February release, Rhys revealed the concept behind it.

He told clashmusic.com: "I got into this record because, in the back of my mind, I really did think, 'I'm 40, I should relax a bit and make an album of piano ballads'.

"I wanted to base it around something really simple … But sonically I wanted it all to fit together, so I was trying to base it around piano."
