The Darkness to rock Newcastle

Rock fans may want to stay in city centre accommodation in Newcastle after seeing The Darkness perform.

The band will be playing at the O2 Academy Newcastle on November 12th and tickets for the show cost £25 without the booking fee.

Justin Hawkins and co will no doubt be playing their classic tracks, such as I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Growing on Me and Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End).

Fans may well also be treated to songs from their forthcoming album, which is yet to be titled.

The Darkness announced they had reformed on March 15th this year and in June they played the 2011 Download Festival.

Following the announcement, Hawkins said he was "gobsmacked" by the reaction to the reunion.

He wrote on Twitter: "I'm gobsmacked and overwhelmed by all the positivity in and around The Darkness!"

Speaking about their festival appearance, he said: "The idea of playing Download terrifies us. We played in an early slot on the main stage in 2003 and we were frightened then."
