Smashing Pumpkins to rock Newcastle

Hostels in Newcastle may well be booked up by fans of the Smashing Pumpkins as the band will be playing there in November.

The band, which formed in 1988, will be playing at the O2 Academy Newcastle on November 14th.

After a six year break between 2000 and 2006, the Smashing Pumpkins returned to the music scene with Zeitgeist, which was released in 2007.

Since then the band has recorded two albums, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope and Oceania, the latter of which is due for release later this year.

It was recently announced that frontman Billy Corgan has launched a record club for fans of the band.

Speaking about what they can expect, he said: "You hear all sorts of things: rough vocals that weren't used, songs before they had particular lyrics, it's really interesting, even for me, to listen through chronologically, because you can really hear some of the progression."

Tickets for the Newcastle show cost £35 without the booking fee.
