Doors open at Edinburgh hostels for Bupa Runners

Competitors taking part in this year's Bupa Great Edinburgh Run can rest their race-weary legs with a night in a hostel in Edinburgh.

Over 10,000 runners took part last year and this year promises the same electric atmosphere for all those taking part in the run.

Starting and finishing in the regal surroundings of Holyrood Park, home to the Scottish Parliament, runners of all abilities can take part in the two runs, a 10km and a 5km race.

The longer route takes in many of the city's famous attractions and lots of runners consider it to be possibly the most attractive city run in the world.

The application process is still open so those hoping to take part in the race have got time to get involved.

The popular run has been moved from its traditional date in May and now takes place on Sunday October 2nd.
