Seasick Steve comes to Glasgow's O2

Seasick Steve fans hoping to see him play can book a hostel in Glasgow to retire to after his Scottish show.

Having spent almost half a century nomadically trundling around America with his guitar, Seasick Steve appeared from obscurity to become an international star.

The legendary American musician has no shortage of devoted fans following a string of brilliant festival appearances and a television documentary about his life which precipitated an explosion of love and admiration for the man.

His bluesy-country music has folk-rock influences with his gravelly voice as rough as his large beard.

Iconically dishevelled, he has now sold over one million records, but still tends to play with the same battered three-string guitar and his one-string Diddley Bo' – a piece of 2x4 wood that has a string nailed into it.

Performances at festivals like Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds as well as spots on both Jools Holland's and Jonathan Ross' shows have made him a hero so you'd be advised to get tickets while you can.

Seasick Steve plays at the Glasgow O2 Academy on Tuesday October 11th. Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £21 plus booking fee.
