Glasgow bracing itself for The Specials treatment

Eighties legends The Specials have announced a European tour, with their Scotland date destined to bring fans skanking all the way to hostels in Glasgow.

Famous tracks such as 'Ghost Town' and 'A Message To You, Rudy' established The Specials as an iconic band indelible from Britain's popular consciousness while tying them forever to the political unrest of the period.

Reforming in 2009 following a period in the wilderness approaching 30 years, Coverntry's finest never expected the fantastic reaction they received as they played to sell-out show after sell-out show.

Their return to fashion coincided with the release of Shane Meadow's seminal film This is England (2006) and by the time of their tour in 2009 anticipation was at fever pitch.

This latest tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of 'Ghost Town' and promises to give fans both new and old who missed out on the 2009 tour a taste of their classic music, released across two albums.

The Specials play the Glasgow SECC on Tuesday October 18th. Doors open at 6.30pm with tickets priced at £35.

Under-14s are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
