Ben Howard touches down in Glasgow
The fantastic young musician Ben Howard has been making huge ripples in the ocean since he hit the scene a year ago and now is set to wow Glasgow hostel guests.
The acoustic Troubadour tries to avoid comparisons to Jack Johnson, and rightly so as the only things they have in common are that they play guitar and like to surf. Ben is a million times better.
His soothing, rootsy voice and deeply thoughtful lyrics have been garnering the Devonshire musician a huge amount of attention as every DJ at BBC Radio 1 seemingly battles to make his singles track of the week.
When he plays live his shows are truly stunning. Inspired guitar playing sees him often lie it on his lap for some slap and picking, wonderfully accompanied by his friends India on cello and Chris on bass and drums (not at the same time, unfortunately).
The release of his debut album, Every Kingdom, has been followed by this national tour which has sold out in many cities across the UK.
Luckily there are still some tickets left for the Glasgow date, so get them while you can.
Ben Howard plays at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on Monday October 31st. Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets are priced at £9.
