Hogmanay makes Edinburgh the place to spend NYE

Renowned the world over as one of the greatest New Year's Eve parties going, hostels in Edinburgh are rapidly filling up as people head to the city to see in 2012.

A range of events will take place across New Year's Eve, with a ticketed street party in the heart of the city the undoubted highlight of proceedings.

Musicians including Mark Ronson, Wild Beasts, The Bombay Bicycle Club and Scotland's own Peatbog Faeries will all perform outdoors in celebration of the year's end.

Party-goers are certain for an electric atmosphere, with Primal Scream also playing an exclusive Concert in the Gardens at West Princes Street.

A torchlight procession through the city will start at Parliament Square at 6.30pm meanwhile, before a fantastic fireworks display at Carlton Hill dazzles the crowds.

Tickets for Hogmanay in Edinburgh on New Year's Eve are available from the festival website and are priced variably depending on the event.
