Cher Swagger Jaggers her way to Newcastle's O2 Academy
People staying in city centre accommodation in Newcastle next year are set to feel the full force of Cher Lloyd when she Swagger Jaggers her way to the city's O2 Academy.
Plucked by Simon Cowell's record label before her feet touched the ground after last year's X Factor, Cher has fortunately been able to develop her music instead of being vacuum-pressed into an identi-kit popstar mould.
The result has been the evolution of urban pop's new poster child, who merges impressive lyrical flexibility with great rapping and stunning singing.
Aiming to emulate idols such as Gwen Stefani, Fergie and L'il Wayne, Cher co-wrote her debut album Sticks And Stones, refusing to be scared of the top dogs who helped her in its production.
"At first I was scared by all these big producers, and going on my own to America was quite daunting," she said.
"But now it’s like 'Actually, I’ve got the chance to be here, so why be so afraid?'"
Cher Lloyd performs at the O2 Academy in Newcastle on April 3rd, 2012. Tickets go on sale for the over-14 event on Friday November 25th.
