Globetrotters to slam-dunk Newcastle

The world's most famous basketball team are setting out on a tour of the globe with hostels in Newcastle the ideal place to stay to take in the show, when they bounce their way to the Metro Radio Arena in March 2012.

Introducing their Class of Newcomers, the Harlem Globetrotters will bring ten outstanding new players to Newcastle in an action-packed show of skill, tricks and slam-dunks.

Featuring the team's tallest ever player, Paul 'Tiny' Sturgess from Loughborough in England, as well as the shortest Globetrotter ever and the first female basketballer in the team for 19 years, the show promises to amaze and astound.

'Tiny' stands at a staggering 7'8" tall so his link-up play with 5'2" Jonte 'Too Tall' Hall is sure to be one of the showpieces of the event.

"The Globetrotters are excited to welcome a new generation of stars to carry on the storied tradition of the world's most entertaining basketball team," said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider.

"This year's rookie class features some of the most talented and promising players from across the world."

The Harlem Globetrotters play at the Metro Radio Arena on Saturday March 24th. Tickets are priced between £12.50 and £40 and doors open at 7.30pm.
