Local bands have stars in their eyes for Christmas party

The boughs will no doubt be decked with holly and jingle bells are sure to rock when the Narc Magazine Christmas party gets underway in front of guests of Newcastle hostels.

The annual get-together sees the north-east's leading music magazine round up its favourite bands and force them under promises of nothing but coal in their stocking to impersonate their heroes in a one-off Stars in Their Eyes Christmas gig.

Some of the best bands currently playing in Newcastle will be performing on the night in what is sure to be a sell-out show, so people who fancy it should get tickets sooner rather than later.

Baskin's Wish will be wrapped-up as Weezer, Grandfather Birds and Nately's Whore Kid Sister will come as The Cure, O'Messy Life will be Andrew WK and Young Legionnaire & Friends will smell like Nirvana.

Held at The Cluny, one of the city's best live music venues in the highly-rated Ouseburn Valley, this promises to be one of the best Christmas parties of the year.

Narc's Stars in Their Eyes Christmas Party is at The Cluny on Friday December 16th. Tickets are £3 and are available from the venue's website. Doors open at 8pm.
