Cirque du Soleil flies into Glasgow's SECC
The Cirque to Soleil will walk the high wire past Glasgow when it brings its Alegria show to the SECC.
Named after the Spanish word for 'jubilation', Alegria is a stunning show featuring many of the world's greatest circus performers, with all of the theatrics that have made the Cirque du Soleil so famous.
Following an enigmatic theme that centres on power and the evolution of ancient monarchies to the contemporary democracies we know today, the characters in Alegria play out ideas of old age and youth in a way only the Cirque du Soleil know how.
Featuring kings and queens, minstrels and beggars, aristocrats and children among the cast, Alegria creates a wonderful world in which the spectacular stunts unfold.
Bringing many of the traditional circus arts to the SECC, the fantastically costumed Alegria characters will perform contortion, manipulation, hand balancing, trapeze and fire knife dancing to the crowds in Glasgow.
Cirque du Soleil: Alegria runs at the SECC from Wednesday April 11th until Sunday April 15th. Tickets cost £50.
