BALTIC to exhibit Price video installation

With the 2011 Turner Prize exhibition now departed from the iconic BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art on the Gateshead Quayside, guests of Newcastle hostels now have the chance to take in a sublime video installation by Elizabeth Price.

Price uses digital video, text and music to create compelling installations that incorporate footage from film archives and collections of photography and art to create entirely new works of art with distinctly apocalyptic themes.

As well as recent work by the artist, her latest work West Hinder will be on display, depicting a wrecked cargo ship complete with luxury contents lying on the floor of the English Channel.

For those who have never visited the BALTIC, Price's exhibition is an added to del draw to the landmark gallery that sits on the banks of the River Tyne and requires a stroll over the inspirational Millennium Bridge to get there.

Elizabeth Price: Here runs at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art from February 3rd until May 27th. Entrance is free.
