Of Mice and Men comes to Edinburgh theatre

The American masterpiece Of Mice and Men is coming to the Lyceum Theatre's stage in February, giving guests of Edinburgh hostels the opportunity to see the novel performed live.

John Steinbeck's classic novel has been studied by generations of literature students and this latest play is sure to be a big hit.

The book made it onto the silver screen in 1992 when John Malkovich and Gary Sinise starred in a film adaptation and this latest play will attempt to do the moving tale similar justice.

Directed by John Dove, the play stars William Ash as George, who sets out on a journey across California with his friend Lennie, played by Steve Jackson.

Full of lofty dreams of settling on their own land, the duo find work on a ranch and set about their work, but the dreams come to a heart-wrenching end when, without realising his enormous power, the child-minded Lennie commits a terrible act.

Of Mice and Men runs at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh from February 17th until March 17th. Tickets cost between £14.50 and £29.
