Newcastle host Sunderland in north-east derby

Football fans heading to the Sports Direct Arena for Newcastle FC's Premier League clash with Sunderland can book into city centre accommodation in Newcastle for before the game, which is the early kick-off of the day.

The 12pm game on Sunday March 4th will see the Magpies trying to sustain their position in the top half of the table - and mount a challenge on a coveted Champion's League place – while ensuring bragging rights over their fierce local rivals, who look newly rejuvenated under Martin O'Neil.

With both Arsenal and Chelsea struggling to pull away in recent weeks, Newcastle will no doubt be feeling confident they can keep pace, especially once star players in Demba Ba, Cheick Tiote and new signing Papiss Demba Cisse return from the African Cup of Nations.

Senegal may have had a poor tournament, but Ba has arguably been the signing of the season in England with 15 goals to his name at present, just four behind Robin van Persie at the top of the charts.

Big things are expected of Cisse as well, who started the season playing for German outfit SC Freiburg, where he hit 37 goals in 65 appearances.

Earlier this season, Newcastle came away from the Stadium of Light with a 1-0 win over Sunderland, thanks to a fine free kick by Ryan Taylor.
