Turning the page on the Aye Write! Glasgow Book Festival
The seventh annual Aye Write! Book Festival is returning in March with a library of page-turning events on offer for people staying in Glasgow hostels.
A host of author appearances, writing workshops and poetry slams feature throughout the 2012 Aye Write! programme, with a diverse range of topics and issues covered by the festival.
Organised by Glasgow Libraries, events are taking place at venues across the city, with some stellar names dropping in to entertain audiences.
Following his high profile campaign during the phone hacking scandal, Tom Watson MP will be presenting News International and Me, while Phillip Coggan and Alistair Darling will be giving their insight into money and the economy.
Other highlights include a musical event that takes visitors back to the Titanic to mark the 100th anniversary of the disaster, Owen Jones takes on the subject of chavs and Wallace and Gromit makers Aardaman Animations present their latest film, The Pirates.
The Aye Write! Glasgow Book Festival runs from Friday March 9th until Saturday March 17th. Ticket prices vary depending on the event, for full programme details visit the festival website.
