31 Dec 08 - 01 Jan 09, Commonwealth Pool
The race is organised in conjunction with Unique Events as part of the Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations. The race is limited to 350 competitors (individuals and teams) and has filled by the closing date for the past 6 years.
The race consists of a 400m swim in the Commonwealth Pool, an 11 mile cycle over three laps of Arthur's Seat on closed roads, and a 3.5 mile run over one lap of Arthur's Seat. Anyone who is reasonably fit can take part, usually about one third of competitors are first time triathletes. Watch out - many become hooked and come back for more! If you feel you're not up to it as an individual, then you're welcome to compete as part of a team.
We can't think of a more beautiful course for an inner city triathlon, and on the first day of the new year we think you'd agree this is a very special event.
